Can we wear Team T-shirts in place of the Komen Race T-shirt?
Yes!  We encourage Teams to design their own logos and Team t-shirt.  However, the official Susan G. Komen for the Cure® logo may not be used nor may it be altered in any way.  The official Komen Running Ribbon may not be used nor may it be altered in any way.  We ask that you be respectful of our Survivors and not wear pink t-shirts as we reserve this color to honor them.  You may, however, use pink in your design…just not the t-shirt color itself.

Will there be a Team Identifier Contest?
The team identifier contest is back. All teams wishing to compete for the best team identifier should submit a sample of their T-shirt, hand-held sign, hat, banner, etc., by April 29 at the Komen Office.   All participants’ entries will be displayed Race Day for judging.  This year the entries will be showcased in a tent. The race participants can vote on the t-shirts by placing their money in a bucket under the t-shirt, hand-held sign, hat, banner, etc. The identifier with the most money wins.

We respectively ask that NO DOGS be brought to the Race site due to liability issues.  We love our dogs!  However, not everyone does.  Your dog may be the best dog in the world, but he/she may not respond well to the excitement of a crowd.  For the safety of others and the dogs, please do not bring them to the site.

If your child will walk in any part of the Race course (including the Kids Dash) or participate in a stroller, you must register them.

What is Susan’s Garden and How does it work?
Susan’s Garden is a very special program to honor the memory of a loved one or to celebrate the life of a Cancer Survivor or Co-Survivor.  Purchase, for a $15.00 donation, a specially designed “Pink Tulip” that is large enough to accommodate a personal “in-honor of” or “in-memory of” message.  Or you can purchase, for a $15.00 donation, a “White Tulip” to honor your Co-Survivor* with a special message.  On Race Day, these tulips make up Susan’s Garden located beside the Survivor Tent.  Please see www.komennctriad.org>Komen Race for the Cure>Team Captain’s Packet>2010 Susan’s Garden for more information or to download a Susan’s Garden Form to be completed and returned to the Komen Affiliate Office.
*What is a Co-Survivor?:  A Co-survivor is someone that went through it all with you…a spouse, a child, a friend, a sibling…someone who supported you throughout your breast cancer journey.

PARTICIPANT CENTER INFORMATION

Q: I forgot by username or password.  How can I find out what they are?
A: Go to the Participant Center under www.komennctriad.org>Komen Race for the Cure and scroll down.  If you need your username, enter your email address in the ‘send me my User Name’ section.  If you need your password, enter your User Name and Email address in the ‘send me my Password’ section.  Your User Name and/or Password will be sent to your email address.  Or send an email to raceonline@komennctriad.org requesting this information.

Q: What is a Personal Page?
A: A personal page is an online promotional tool for your use when asking friends and family to join your team or sponsor you by making a donation.  Once you sign up for an event online, by default, you will have a personal page created for you.  You have the option of personalizing this page by going to your participant center.  You will be able to customize images, text, and personalize the style/color layout of the page.

Q: I have a personal page; do I have to change it?
A: Once you sign up for the Race using our online system, you will have a personal page created for you.  A compelling personal page attracts and engages supporters.  While you can spread the word using customized e-mail solicitations, your personal campaign page can be your own creative expression of your commitment to the cause.  Customize your page by selecting the layout and style that work best for you.  Utilize the elements of text, photo, and status indicators to their fullest advantage.

Q: What is the difference between making my personal page private or public?
A: By default, a personal page is Public, meaning your name will appear in the participant search list, and anyone accessing the site will be able to support you.  Setting your personal page to Private means your name will not appear in the participant search list and only people you personally invite will be able to support you.

Q: How do I connect my Participant Center to my Facebook Page?
A: Instructions are on our website under Komen Race for the Cure>Fundraise at the very bottom of the page.

FUNDRAISING INFORMATION

Q: Do I have to collect donations to participate in the Race?
