How to Apply for Funding

Thank you for your interest in the NC Triad Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Grants Program.  To be eligible to apply for a Komen Community-Based Grant, your organization must be:

  • A federally tax-exempt entity — nonprofit organization, government agency, educational institution or Indian tribe.
  • Located within the Affiliate service area of Alamance, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes, and Yadkin Counties.

The NC Triad Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® works actively in these communities to raise funds for research, education, screening and treatment support programs regarding breast health and breast cancer.  

Community Grants

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Community Grants Program is one way in which these funds are invested in our community to forward the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® National Mission:  To save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.  The Community Grants are awarded once a year in March, have structured agendas, and require a Request For Application (RFA) due annually in November.  The 2012-2013 Request for Application (RAF) is now closed.  Click Here to access the Application    Click Here to access the Budget Template   

Small Grants

Local funds are also available to community organizations year round for breast health professionals' travel expenses to training and educational conferences.  In addition, small grants are available to support community breast health conferences to be held in the eleven-county service area of the Komen NC Triad Affiliate.  Interested organizations [limited to 501(c)(3) non profits or public organizations] may apply by submitting an Application to Leigh Satalino, Director of Mission Outreach.  Requests must be received 6 weeks in advance of program, conference, or travel.
