Major step in personalized treatment — Thanks to a 2007 research grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, scientists identified a set of 50 genes that oncologists can potentially use to tailor individualized treatments for all breast cancer patients.
How to Apply for Funding
Thank you for your interest in the Komen Affiliate grants program. Please complete the form below to receive information about the Komen Affiliate grants program, including announcements, Request for Application (RFA) information and networking event information. To be eligible to apply for a Komen Community-Based Grant, your organization must be:
- A federally tax-exempt entity — nonprofit organization, government agency, educational institution or Indian tribe.
- Located in the specified affiliate service area.
The NC Triad Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure works actively in the community to raise funds for research, education, treatment, and grass roots awareness programs regarding breast cancer.
Community Grants
The Komen for the Cure Community Grants program (previously known as STEP Grants) is one way in which these funds are invested in our community to forward the Komen National Mission: To save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. The Community Grants are awarded once a year in January, have structured agendas, and require a request for application (RFA) due annually in November.
Small Grants
Local funds also are also available to community organizations year-round for program needs, travel for education of breast health professionals or community breast health conferences to be held in the ten-county service area of the NC Triad Affiliate. Interested organizations (limited to 501(c)(3) non-profits or public organizations) may apply by letter of request to the Komen NC Triad Communtiy Outreach Manager along with the application form below. Requests must be received 60 days in advance of program, conference, or travel.
